Dear Nativity Families -
As we approach the end of the first trimester, we find ourselves busy planning ahead for the future. Typically, in January, we go through our re-enrollment process and again ask our parents to enroll their children for another school year at NCS. We have made great strides over the last several years as we transitioned from a multitude of handwritten paper forms to electronic forms. Now we are ready to begin the next evolution in our re-enrollment process.
Over the years, I have had conversations with parents about how the "re-enrollment process" can be overwhelming. Parents have asked, 'why do we have to fill out forms each year?'. The majority of the time, the information we ask for hasn't changed from the previous year. Our retention rate averages about 95% each year, which shows that the majority of our families intend to have their children graduate from Nativity Catholic School.
During the last several months, a diverse group of School and Church employees came together to explore the possibility of changing the way we do re-enrollment. I was driven by the thought of how we can make this process easier (and better) for our parents.
In the coming weeks, you will hear more about Perpetual or Continuous Enrollment at NCS - a process that many schools across the country are adopting. The concept is similar to when a student enrolls in college; your contract will serve as a binding agreement for your child's remaining years at Nativity. We will no longer require you to jump through many hoops to re-enroll your student. Any parent/guardian that does not intend for their child to return for the following school year will simply notify the School (by completing an electronic form) during the opt-out window each January.
Our team is busy finalizing the process and I will be in touch again in a few weeks with full details. We are excited about this change and really believe our parents are going to love not having to worry about this process anymore.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
Yours In Christ,
Mrs. Maureen Ringley
