Hurricane Dorian Update

NCS Families,

Nativity Catholic School’s Leadership Team is monitoring the progress of Hurricane Dorian. Dorian’s exact path still has some uncertainty. The storm intensity is increasing and is forecasted to become a Category 2 storm later this evening. Maximum sustained winds are currently at 85mph with higher gusts.

The storm has slowed down. The next 24-48 hours should give additional information on what we can expect from this storm.

Over the weekend, we will continue to monitor the storm and communicate with parish and diocesan leadership. We will notify families directly via email, text and post information on social media. As stated in our handbook, we make our decisions independently from Hillsborough County Public Schools. At this time, please refrain from calling the school office to inquire about school closure. Please check your email, school website and school Facebook page for the most updated information.

We will make decisions with the health, safety and welfare of our students and families in mind. We pray that this storm will not have a significant impact on our community.

Yours in Christ,
Maureen Ringley, M.Ed.
